Maasmechelen is one of the best destinations in Limburg for mountain bikers. The national park and the river park form the backdrop for numerous mountain bike routes. Short and long trails… every mountain biker can go wild in the woods.

MTB Maasmechelen – red loop

This intensive route is short, but powerful and 100% off-road. A course of 15.6 km provides a lot of altitude metres. Climb up for fantastic views, ride on narrow paths, and ascend 26 m at an average gradient of 3% to reach the top of the Duivelsberg.

The start of this route is at the Kikmolen campsite. There are dining establishments and shower facilities for after the exhausting tour.

 

MTB Maasmechelen – green loop

This green loop crosses Lanaken and Maasmechelen over a distance of 25.5 km. The start and finish are on the Weg naar Zutendaal. The nearest place to park is around junction 199. The route goes 95% off-road and lets you climb a total of 167 m. The maximum slope of this route is 3.55%. What goes up, must come down, naturally. The route contains some descents where your agility will be put to the test.

 

MTB Maasmechelen – blue loop

This mountain bike route is 88% off-road and stretches across the Maasmechelen, As, and Dilsen-Stokkem region. The closest address to start and finish is Beukenstraat 32 in Lanklaar. Start from there and go to the route for a 33.4 km trip. There are several starting and finishing points with dining establishments and shower facilities. A total incline of 199 m with a maximum gradient of 5.97% make this route a tough one.
