Het Agentschap voor Natuur en Bos start aan de Kikbeekbron in Maasmechelen met het grootste Blue Deal-project van Vlaanderen. Het doel is om het ecosysteem van de originele Kikbeekvallei te herstellen. Hierdoor zal er meer water in het gebied vastgehouden worden.
