Hidden among the trees, you suddenly come face to face with the animals that live in the National Park—but don’t worry, they’re made of wood! Terhills, the main gateway to the Hoge Kempen National Park, offers various fun walking routes. Here, you might find the most impressive panoramic viewpoint of the park. From the top of the Lange Terril, you can see for miles across our green municipality.
Did you know there’s also a walking loop that takes you directly to the top? With 4 km, the Green Walking Loop is ideal for those looking for a short yet breathtaking walk.
Just finished a walk? Right next to the Terhills – National Park Visitor Center is the Play Pit. While you enjoy a cup of coffee and the beautiful nature, the little ones can burn off their energy on the adventurous playground.
LEGO® fans, take note! In MaasMechelen, you’ll find the Railway Brick Museum, a unique collection of LEGO® sculptures and builds.
As the name suggests, the museum is entirely dedicated to LEGO® model trains. Discover over 50 years of history, admire the impressive creations, and explore the interactive builds.
