The church of Mechelen-aan-de-Maas, the heart of this merged municipality, is dedicated to two bishops from Maastricht in the sixth century.
It is a neoclassical building, mainly made of brick, dating from 1851-1854. The architect is the Hasselt native Herman Jaminé.
The church is adorned with several older cult objects, such as the 12th-century baptismal font and the 16th-century statues of Monulfus and Gondulfus.
The 19th-century altars were restored in 2004. In 2007, the renovated organ was inaugurated, a combination of a Clerinx organ (1854) and a Geurts organ (1912).
