Maasmechelen is filled with places where children can play and explore freely. In the most beautiful spots of nature, you’ll find discovery trails and challenging climbing equipment. In this blog, you will get to know six special places in Maasmechelen where children can let their playful imagination run wild during the autumn months.

B'Oscars

Step into the role of one of the main characters of National Park Hoge Kempen. Head out with the IZI.TRAVEL app and the special B'Oscar booklet and take a walk of 3.5 to 5 km. And who knows, you might win the B’Oscar prize!

National Park Playground

The Play Pit is a spacious playground with equipment for both small and large children, themed around National Park Hoge Kempen and its typical mining history. Next to the Play Pit, you’ll find the Terhills café, where you can easily keep an eye on the kids from the terrace while they have fun.

Leut Play Forest

The play forest is a fantastic natural playground. The play elements are made entirely of wood and other natural materials. A playground where you can move freely, climb, and weave endlessly!

The Castle Park of Pipa

Meet Pipa, the daughter of the castle lord! Join her on a journey through the landscape park surrounding the castle and take on various play, dance, and singing challenges. The Castle of Pipa guarantees fun!

Kidsafari

Forget the BIG 5 and get to know the BIG 4. Follow the Sandglass Trail in a counterclockwise direction and keep your eyes open for the walking posts, as some of them contain a QR code that you can scan with your smartphone or tablet. The video behind the QR code will tell you more about the BIG 4 of our National Park Kids Safari and how to find them.
