Those who choose to cycle in and through the Maas Valley River Park have a lot of choice. So it can sometimes bed difficult to choose a route. We have listed three diverse routes for you, all of which run in and around the Maas Valley River Park. So there’s something for everyone.

Cross-border cycling

Cycling through the river park and briefly crossing the border? It’s possible! Follow the junctions and go on a 41.5 km cycling tour. This tour will take you to the Netherlands and back where you started. This tour also has a little something special. You’ll cross on a ferry, so pay attention to the operating hours for the ferries.

Leut, De Wissen, and the Kruinenpad

For those who prefer to stay on Belgian territory and are looking for a nice change between nature and culture, this route is first-rate. This 32.2 km route takes you to Stokkem, De Wissen, the canal, and the Kruinenpad. Cycle in and around the Maas Valley River Park, starting in the beautiful Maas village of Leut. The history of Leut is largely linked to the history of Vilain Castle, which dominates the village centre. A stately avenue connects the village square with the castle.

Maas Route (1050 km)

The Maas Route follows one of the most important rivers in Europe and is suitable for cyclists of all levels. Those who ride the entire Maas Route will cross three countries (France, Belgium, and the Netherlands), and pass through the Maas Valley River Park, of course. This attractive and varied route offers constantly changing landscapes with charming towns and villages on both sides of the river. There are possibilities to cycle parts of the trail or to cover the entire trail during a multi-day cycling holiday.
