Maas Valley River Park

The Maas is the lifeline of the Maas Valley River Park. It shapes the typical landscape and its bed is home to plants and animals that are found nowhere else. Countless waterbirds, butterflies, dragonflies, wild bees, and special flowers and herbs make their homes here. The Maas Valley River Park has some typical Maas villages in which time has stood still. Like a pearls strung along the string of the Maas, they all radiate authenticity. Go out and be enchanted by the sights while visiting these beautiful villages.

An impressive rain river, the Meuse forms the Belgian-Dutch border from Maastricht to Kessenich for 40 km. The River Park has a varied landscape with a tangle of old river arms, embankments, stream channels, gravel banks ... followed by some well-defined residential areas. It is an area with its own face and with some monumental historical sites. Come and experience the RivierPark with all your senses.
 

The Meuse Valley River Park is the result of a thorough, cross-border cooperation between 2 countries, 2 provinces, 11 municipalities, 2 water managers, 4 nature managers, 3 tourist organisations and many others.
