The Meuse is a rain-fed river. This means that sometimes the water is very high and at other times very low. As a result, litter often remains that the river carries along. There are regular clean-up actions on the banks of the Meuse, but in hard-to-reach places, waste can accumulate. These places pose no problem for rafters or kayakers. Think of little islands or remote beaches.
If you want to combine the pleasant with the useful, and contribute to keeping our beautiful river clean, that is very welcome. Kajak Maasland, in collaboration with Rivierpark Maasvallei, offers its environmentally conscious customers a free Meuse Clean-up Package. Companies, schools, groups, or individuals who choose this package are provided free of charge with a grab stick, trash bag, and gloves to collect litter. This way, we make our beautiful river even more beautiful. You can leave the collected trash at the designated place afterward. Just indicate on our booking form that you would like to receive a Meuse Cleanup Package.
