This short, wooded walk leads you through the Mechels Bos and past the small station of Eisden, the final stop of the Coal Line. The last coal train departed in 1987; passenger service had already been discontinued earlier. The wooden station building burned down completely and was later rebuilt as a tavern.
The old auxiliary buildings of the station were also rebuilt and converted into hikers' cabins.
You can also start this hiking loop from the Mechelse Heide Gateway.
