The long red loop combines all the beauty of this area: you hike through heathland and forest, as well as through the former sand and gravel pit. This hike is particularly suitable for those who are out and about with their four-legged friends. During the hike itself, dogs must be kept on a leash, but this trail also has a large pet meadow where dogs and owners can let off steam.
The red hiking loop is largely unpaved and hilly and takes you through the heathland to the Ven onder de Berg. This fen is almost completely overgrown with peat mosses. Not only does it provide a beautiful view, but also a place for special plants to grow. The peat carpet is very fragile. So please don’t step on it because it takes years to recover.
