Main Access Terhills

Once the beating heart of coal mining in Eisden, Terhills is now the main gateway to Hoge Kempen National Park. Here you’ll find beautiful hiking trails leading past old mining sites and through expansive natural areas, with the panoramic view from the Terhill as a highlight. Mountain bikers can enjoy challenging routes through the park. The impressive mine headframes stand proudly on site, with the left tower offering one of the region’s best views. Cyclists can explore various routes, including the unique ‘Cycling Between the Mining Terrils’ pontoon bridge connecting cycling nodes 502 and 565. Terhills is where nature, history, and adventure come together for an unforgettable day outdoors.
