Main Access Terhills

Once the beating heart of Eisden’s coal mining operations, Terhills is now the main gateway to Hoge Kempen National Park. From here, not only do beautiful hiking trails start, guiding you along former mining sites and through vast natural landscapes—with the panoramic view from the Terhill as a highlight, but you will also find the National Park Visitor Center. Mountain bike enthusiasts can enjoy challenging routes that lead through the park. The impressive headframes stand proudly here as well, with the left tower offering one of the most stunning views of our region. Cyclists can discover a variety of routes, including the unique “Cycling between the Mine Terrils” pontoon bridge, connecting junctions 502 and 565. Terhills is the place where nature, history, and adventure come together for an unforgettable day outdoors.
